My Personal Greeting:
Welcome to my project! Raiders of Aur is my first attempt at developing a platformer in Game Maker Studio and I'm very excited to finally make this public since I've been working on it all the while trying to get more familiar with GML and programming in general. I'm learning a lot as I go and continue to stay active with it and it's very rewarding to see my work in a playable state. I'm happy to finally share it with the world and I can't wait to see the high scores that everyone posts! This is just a demo release and I plan to continue this project for as long as I can, or at least until I feel it's considered "finished."
About the Game:
Raiders of Aur is a fast-paced score-chasing collect-athon platform shooter that tests your skill and wit as you have have to clear each room in just 1 minute. Timer runs out? Lose 50 points. Lose all of your lives? Restart from the beginning. It's a simple premise, but with a sense of urgency. It would be interesting to see this game speed-run in the future. Once I've added a good bit more of levels I will bring this up again on my socials. At the moment the only lore we have to go with is that Blue (the main character) is trying brave the dungeons riddled with obstacles and treasure to get to his partner who is being held captive by the evil King Squidulous and his army of baddies. Time is against you, and so is King Squidulous and his Squid Army! The ever burning feud between the Blobs and Squids is coming to a closure, and its all up to YOU!

"A" = left,
"D" = right,
"J" = shoot,
"K" = jump,
"R" teleport to start,
"Backspace" = pause,
"ESC" quit,
XBOX 360/ONE Gamepad Controls:
D-pad left/right for movement,
"X" = shoot,

Hey man! Great game! I got pretty far and really enjoyed the experience. For being a demo, it's got quite a bit of content!
The screen shake was great, and the replayability definitely got me stuck in. I think if you have 1+ lives and time runs out, you should be able to restart from the last level you were in. The animations are solid! I love the increasing difficulty. The levels in the 2nd world felt a bit like deja vu. I was excited to get to the 3rd world but it was really hard and things stopped there.
Great work on your game! Hope it makes a full release.
